Don’t miss this opportunity!!!!
Are you interested in obtaining Collective Bargaining Rights for your membership?
Where do you start?
What avenue to Collective Bargaining best suits your specific locality?
Let us help you answer these questions to put you on the road to success. This opportunity is some of the most affordable IAFF training available to your IAFF Local or State Association.
The Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters was organized in Nashville, TN on February 2, 1995, to promote collective bargaining rights for all firefighters. The Southern Fed is currently comprised of the following 19 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
The Executive Board of the Southern Fed has worked closely with the Executive Board of the IAFF to create a National Collective Bargaining Bill, but in these times of divided government we are working with the IAFF for alternate approaches to provide bargaining one local at a time.
This year’s conference will be in Atlanta, Georgia on October 15th-17th. Our main item of business will be a forum with Local Leaders who have recently been successful with obtaining bargaining for their membership. This forum will be moderated by Chris “Blue” Bartley, who is the Political Program Coordinator at the International Association of Fire Fighters. After the forum, there will be Q&A from the audience in attendance.
Come learn where to start, what worked and didn’t work for others, and what might work for you.
If you are a local or state leader and currently do not have an active plan in place to provide bargaining rights for your members, you can't miss this opportunity.
I told you this was the most inexpensive training that is offered for your membership. Dues to the SFPFF are $1 per member with a minimum of $35 and a maximum of $100 per year. The registration fee for the conference is only $125 per person. Rooms at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria have been blocked for $179 per night. Find another local in your state to share a room with and get to Atlanta. There will be a wealth of information and networking opportunities here that can make a difference in your members’ future for years to come.
We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!!
