All Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters Local & State Affiliate Officers:

In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Southern Federation of Professional Firefighters, I am sending notice regarding your annual membership in the organization and the 2023 SFPFF Conference.

“All Affiliated States and Locals and Associate Members shall pay one dollar ($1.00) per member per year up to one hundred members, but not less than thirty-five dollars ($35) per year for affiliation to the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters.” Forms have been attached to assist you in the remittance of your annual dues and conference registration.

Further, this conference will be held in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Southern Federation of Professional Firefighters. In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws, please be aware of the following:

CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS

All resolutions, submitted by affiliates for consideration at the Conference, shall be received by the Secretary/Treasurer at least thirty (30) days prior to the Conference, and shall be sent to all State and Local affiliates fifteen (15) days prior to the annual Conference of the Federation by the Secretary-Treasurer. The only exception to this article shall be resolutions to amend the Constitution and By-Laws, submitted by the Constitution and By-Laws Committee.

LATE RESOLUTIONS

Late resolutions must be received by 5 PM on the day prior to the start of the Conference, provided the following conditions are met; the affiliated individual or affiliated organization submitting the Late Resolution shall provide the President with sufficient copies for each registered delegate. The resolution must be accepted by 2/3 majority vote of the delegation present and voting.

AMENDMENTS

Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws of the Federation shall be approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the delegates present and voting at the Annual Conference, in accordance with the IAFF Constitution and By-Laws.

The IAFF Committee on Assistance to Non-Collective Bargaining States will meet on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM.

The General Session will start on Wednesday, November 8th at 9:00 a.m. with business on Wednesday and concluding on Thursday, November 9th. There will be hospitality events planned by our host, the Fort Worth Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 440, and plenty of opportunities for networking throughout the conference.

A room block with a rate of $167 has been secured at the SpringHill Suites Fort Worth Historic Stockyards.

The room block at the SpringHill Suites Fort Worth Stockyards is completely full on Tuesday, November 7th. Rooms could possibly become available. You can still book rooms by calling the hotel directly at 682.255.5100.

Push "ZERO" to access the front desk and tell them that you are with the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters. The hotel will honor the room rate of $167.

If not, these properties are close by and rooms can be booked on-line or by calling the hotel directly. There are no established room blocks for the overflow hotels.
